MERCY TO UNIVERSE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
Fidan Art Foundation organizes many academic, cultural, and artistic activities within the framework of its efforts to better recognize and understand the Prophet Muhammad. Mercy to Universe International Short Film Festival is one of these events. As the name suggests, it is the first short film competition in Turkey and in the world, dedicated to our Prophet Muhammad, who was sent as a Mercy to the Universe.
Starting from here, our festival is aimed to use the cinema as a means of communication to get to know the Prophet (PBUH) correctly, to understand the cause of rights he pursued without compromise until his last breath, to understand his thoughts that shed light on humanity, and to be properly loved and respected.
Mercy to Universe International Short Film Festival continued to increase its contribution to cinema with its new industrial section Final Draft in its 7th year. Final Draft Industry Platform, which was held for the first time that year, aims to bring together the directors and producers in the field of short films with industry professionals and festivals of Turkish and world cinema and to support the projects during the production phase.
As filmmakers, cinema is a tool to tell stories, transmit messages, and change the world for the better. It establishes a link between Prophet Muhammad’s example life for humanity and the filmmaker’s goals. The Prophet’s (peace be upon him) way of life is an excellent model for all human beings. He indicates and teaches people gratitude, humility, mercy, patience, and submission, compassion towards the family, pardoning the guilt, and generosity. In addition, he teaches to show all these values towards nature and animals as well as human beings. Furthermore, as festival organizers, we hope that the films will embody ideals that will help to heal the world such as those mentioned above. Following that, the main admission criteria are that films must possess those values.
Mercy to the Universe International Short Film Festival, which will be held for the 8th time in 2022, is organized under the auspices of the Fidan Art Foundation.
